🚛 Essential Functions – OTR Truck Dispatcher

• Coordinate and plan freight loads for regional and OTR operations using optimal driver and load matching strategies.
• Manage time-sensitive and high-value loads with a focus on customer satisfaction and delivery goals.
• Assign loads based on driver proximity, availability, and HOS compliance.
• Sign rate confirmations and carrier packets in a timely manner.
• Understand industry terms: Detention, Layover, TONU, etc.
• Monitor and respond to activity across load boards.
• Communicate with brokers, shippers, and our internal team regarding load status and coordination.
• Plan freight across multiple trailer types: Flatbed, RGN, Reefer, Dry Van, Power Only — assignment is based on need.
• Ensure all loads are picked up and delivered on time.
• Minimize deadhead and maximize load profitability.
• Clearly communicate accurate load details including appointments and special requirements.
• Track documentation, maintain compliance standards, and follow internal SOPs.
• Leverage our proprietary TotalDispatcher.com TMS platform for all dispatch operations.

🎓 Experience & Education Requirements

Applicants must have solid experience in truck dispatching and broker negotiations.

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• 2+ years experience in a dispatching or logistics role
• Strong knowledge of DOT HOS regulations
• Ability to manage up to 15 assigned trucks using Turbo Dispatcher
• Comfort with DAT Power, Ascend TMS, Smartsheet, and other tools
• Experience using load boards in the spot market
• Excellent negotiation skills (required)
• Strong verbal/written communication and decision-making ability
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

📅 Schedule & Work Format

Schedule:
Monday to Friday
On-call availability on weekends

Work Location:
Remote (Work from Home)
Multiple locations (1099 or Full-Time)

Pay Frequency:
Bi-weekly or twice monthly
